Packing the West Film Casting Registration

Registration

  • For Fall filming we have one adult role:

    1. Anglo woman age early 30s to portray historical character Dame Shirley, a gold miner on the Feather River, California Gold Rush ca 1850. – Dame Shirley (Louise Clappe) was born in New Jersey, and spent spent most of her youth and young adult life in Massachusetts. she attended a female seminary in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and attended Amherst Academy. She was interested in metaphysics. She went to California with her husband during the California Gold Rush, and became a miner in her own right.
  • This cast type is for youths ages 12-14

    We will be casting for 2 boys and 2 girls:

    1. Rose – A Hispanic or African American girl between the age 12 to 14 years; editor of class newspaper and keenly interested in the settling of the American frontier and the people who came West.

    2. Daniel – A Native American, Asian, Hispanic or African American boy between the age of 12 to 14 years. He has an analytical and practical mind capable of paying attention to minute details. He wants to be a civil engineer and build things. He is quite interested in his own culture and how it relates to history.

    3. Albert – An Asian American, African American, or Hispanic boy between the age of 12 to 14 years. He is fascinated with trains. He’s precocious, charming, and full of questions about everything. He likes to know how things work and has been known to dismantle toasters and remote-control cars to learn just what makes them run. Not only is he smart, but he possesses a wonderful sense of humor.

    4. Chloe - A 12 to 13-year-old Anglo girl who loves all things outdoors. Her ancestors came to Missouri from Ireland in the late 1800s and worked as beekeepers until traveling by wagon to Colorado to settle. She loves sports, particularly hiking. She lives to walk along the same trails her family ventured in their pilgrimage West. She’s fearless and eager to take on any challenge, and intensely curious about everything. Her hobbies are reading, riding her horse, and camping.

At this time we are casting for three youth roles and one adult woman's role. 


Filming will take place in Encampment, WY

Oct. 9, 10 and 11, 2020.

The Roles:
