Candace Simar is a writer and poet from Pequot Lakes MN with a passion for history and her Scandinavian ancestry. She is the author of the ABERCROMBIE TRAIL SERIES about the Great Sioux Uprising of 1862 ( ABERCROMBIE TRAIL), POMME DE TERRE , Spur Award-winning BIRDIE , and Spur Award finalist BLOOMING PRAIRIE. FARM GIRLS (2013), co-written with Angela Foster, is a coffee table memoir about growing up on the family farm. SHELTERBELTS published 2015 is her newest historical novel.
